Let AI handle the rest.
Half Day Thursdays. Practical AI for people who want their week back, and an AI education company named after an afternoon.
Hi I'm Eliot... I started taking half day Thursdays at a remote job, back when AI had taken over my dreaded SEO reporting. I never told anyone in the company, for fear of being AI shamed...
It stuck. My mum still rings me on Thursday afternoons because she remembers I take half day Thursdays.
So when there was a company to name, that was it. The afternoon isn't the point on its own. The point is what it proves. The business ran without me sat in front of it, and the hours were mine to spend.
I'm Eliot. In 2014 I was doing 12-hour shifts for minimum wage, and I set myself one goal. Open my laptop and work from anywhere.
So I watched every Make Money Online video going. Landed on content marketing, learned SEO, built and sold a pizza business somewhere in the middle. Before returning to senior roles at a agencies and in-house before striking out on my own again.
But covid arrived and along with that all my freelance clients fired me in one day. Every one of them, same day.
So I rebuilt, and I kept hitting the same ceiling. Always a deadline behind, pedalling under the desk to keep my head above water on the Zoom call. Looking like I had it together, and nothing ever feeling done.
Then a wedding in Greece turned up with the biggest SEO job I'd ever taken sat directly in front of it, and no version of the maths that worked. Do or die either way. So I gave it an hour a day, every day, learning how to use Claude properly rather than poking at it. I kept struggling along. Three weeks in I looked up and I'd done a week's work in about eight hours. No burnout, nothing dropping. I finished early and I made the wedding.
The next two years went on the rest. YouTube growth, testing every AI tool released, seeing what stuck. It worked but it was slow. Everything changed it was getting in with people who were using this for real and having them show me. Not a video. The actual screen, the actual files, the thing running in front of me. My output changed inside a few months.
Somewhere in there I wrote the AI curriculum 3000+ people learned from.
Now, I live in Cornwall now. I surf badly and often, I got engaged on a surfboard, and a fair bit of my thinking happens sat on the beach waiting for the tide. The half day is still real, and my mum still has the timing memorised.
I'm not the sharpest person in this space by a mile. I'm the one who made the systems boring enough to run every single day.
The battle can't be won by fighting harder.
One person against everything loses eventually, and no productivity system has ever fixed that.
The system you build underneath the tool is what matters.
Tools change every three months. A business that's written down moves with you, whatever's best that week.
If it's in your head, it's a liability.
Written down, it's an asset AI can read and act on. Most people's blocker isn't the technology, it's that nothing is documented.
Start with pain.
Find the thing you hate doing, then solve that. Going the other way round is how people end up with twelve clever automations and the same awful Tuesday.
Nobody has ten years of experience in AI.
At best somebody has two years on you. A month of proper work puts you a long way up the field, and that window won't stay open forever.
Freedom of time beats free time.
Free time is recovering from giving your best energy to somebody else's goals. Freedom of time is choosing what your hours go on. Build for the second one.
Hard work isn't the enemy.
You don't hate work, what you hate is the drudgery. Hand that over and keep the rest.
Proof beats promise.
Which is why everything we teach are the things running for real.
Done By AI is a free live masterclass on Thursday 17 September, 16:00 UK / 11:00 ET. Ninety minutes, screen shared the whole way, showing the systems that run this business. You leave with the six rungs and know which one you're on.
