The story
Why I called it Half Day Thursdays
A while back I was at a marketing agency where the only goal the founder ever gave me was "client retention at all costs." I never lost a client. My plate just kept getting fuller.
Nobody there thought much of AI. They poo-pooed it. "It can't do what I do" was the usual line. But I knew ChatGPT could help me, even back then.
So I went after my most painful job first. Monthly reports. Best part of a week, every month, and the clients never opened them... ffs.
I mapped the whole archaic process out and tried to automate it. It DID NOT WORK. There were glimmers though, so I kept going. About 20 hours of back and forth, and I ended up with a 2000+ word prompt held together with spit and glue.
And it worked. Days of work down to about two hours.
First real taste of handing the drudgery over and getting the hours back. It was a remote job, so I spent them how I liked. I took Half Day Thursdays. (Never told a soul in that company, for fear of being AI shamed.)
A few years on and I arrive at my desk with the boring work already done. Straight to the good stuff.
So when it came to naming a company that does the same for you, there was only one name on the list.
That's the whole north star. More time in your life, spent on what you love. The work you crave, time with family, or if you're anything like me, a Thursday afternoon in the Cornwall sea.
